PAINTING TO BE PLACED Work by Theodore Gegoux will hang in governor's office. A painting by Theodore Gegoux of the historical incident at Champoeg which resulted in the formation of the first government in Oregon will be hung in the office of the governor in the statehouse at Salem this morning, according to advice received yesterday by Harold C. Jones, secretary of the local Kiwanis club and head of the sea service bureau. The painting which has been on display at Champoeg for a number of years has been reframed to fit its new surroundings. The Kiwanis clubs of Oregon have started a movement to interest the state in the purchase of the picture. |
